While in the hostage, romance blossoms between Sooraj and Radha. But the sunny days do not last for long, as Radha beling a cop’s daughter, police takes prompt action in tracking them down. Radha somehow manages to escape but Sooraj is shot in the arm when trying to jump over a broken bridge and they both fall in water. Later on they get rescued by a group of monks. After this incident both Radha and Sooraj confess their love for each other. Also Sooraj surrenders for kidnapping Radha, and goes to jail for 2 years. Sooraj and Athiya show immense promise. Unfortunately, Hero doesn’t do justice to their potential.

Watching Hero is like refreshing your Facebook timeline, hoping for a like or a comment. Except nothing happens. The movie moves from one bizarre scene to the other making you realise that those Candy Crush invites are NOT the most irritating thing in the world.

Why are remakes made? I would think to take a crackling story that can stand the test of time, and tweak it to fit into the current scenario, so that the new audience gets to enjoy it too. But the exercise seems futile if the remake is also stuck in the same time as the original was, or perhaps goes further back.

With excellent production values, Nikhil Advani's film, though technically advanced, is poorly executed in terms of writing. The characters, without much thought given into their background stories, are shallow and underdeveloped.
