Before he can save the Arctic... he'll need a little help
Plot Summary
Norm (Rob Schneider), the polar bear, possesses the unique ability to talk to humans. When the wealthy Mr Greene (Ken Jeong) reveals his plans to build luxury homes in the Arctic, Norm feels worried knowing that danger is looming over the Arctic. He then travels to New York along with his three lemming friends. There he ends up being the mascot of an organisation soon to realise that it's future is related to his homeland.
Anthony Bell, who previously directed Lionsgate's hit film Alpha and Omega (2010), was initially on board as the director but was later on replaced by Trevor Wall.

It’s a good thing that apathy doesn’t produce carbon dioxide, because otherwise Norm Of The North would be responsible for single-handedly drowning legions of the cute Arctic creatures that star in this awkwardly assembled kids’ movie.

The film doesn't exactly score points for originality, whether it's the frequent musical numbers, the indestructible lemmings whose resemblance to Minions is strictly not coincidental or the reliably kid-pleasing bathroom humor, here evidenced by such moments as when the lemmings relieve themselves over a fish tank.

One wishes "Norm of the North" had a blatant or even a subversive political message, if only because it might start an argument about the ways in which "Hollywood is trying to indoctrinate our kids with liberal propaganda about climate change." That could be fun.

Norm Of The North may be the worst family film to receive a theatrical release since The Oogieloves And The Big Balloon Adventure played to empty rooms in late summer 2012.
