Plot Summary of "Kambakkht Ishq (2009)"

The plot of the movie revolves around the relationship between two individuals who are poles apart. Viraj Shergill (Akshay Kumar) is a successful stuntman in Hollywood who believes that women are only good for two things: "making love" and "making love" but not marrying. He thinks commitment and marriage are words that shouldn’t exist in dictionary. Simrita Rai (Kareena Kapoor) is a staunch feminist, part time supermodel and an aspiring surgeon who does not see the need to have a man in her life. She thinks men are good at nothing. Experience has taught her that men are not worth the effort. She just wantes to pursue her career and become successful. No wonder chances of love sparking between these two distinct individuals are remote.

The other character in the movie is Viraj's younger brother, Lucky (Aftab Shivdasani) who is genuine and loveable. He has been protected his entire life by Viraj although he has a completely different opinion about women. Madly in love with Kamini (Amrita Arora), he wants to marry her. But Viraj is against this plan of his brother.

It’s at the wedding of Lucky and Kamini that both Viraj and Simrita get into serious arguments, and both are thrown together in the most absurd, hillarious situation until one dramatic twist of fate binds the two together in a manner that they could have never dreamed of in their wildest imaginations.

• Reports indicated that actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger was signed on to do a cameo and that the film would feature a performance from singer and actress Beyonce Knowles. It was later reported that both of the stars would not be appearing in the film.
