1st IIFA Awards (2000)
The 1st International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony honoured the best films of 1999 and took place in June 2000. This year, London played host to the Indian Film Industry and the main event was organised at The Millennium Dome, London. A host of international artists, e.g. Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, and Kylie Minogue bedazzled the Millenium Dome with their presence and performances. Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra co-hosted the ceremony along with actor Kabir Bedi. The films that won multiple awards included Salman Khan-Aishwarya Rai starrer "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and Akhshay Khanna-Aishwarya Rai-Anil Kapoor starrer "Taal".
